For clarification, Concord-DT will be able to extract both the emails and attachments, keeping the metadata intact for both?
All emails are maintained as single compound entities as they existed in the email store or file system. During ESI Analysis, the email metadata is extracted and preserved for further analysis; attachments extracted and analyzed independently where metadata is preserved as well for further analysis. If the email is not excluded due to duplicity, the entire email entity is loaded into the repository for review in whole where all child objects and metadata is intact for full-text indexing and enhanced search.
When Concord-DT performs de-duplication, is it by custodians? Or will they combine all the custodians and de-duplicate as a group?
De-duplication is performed as instructed by either global or custodian. The case manager will select the preference prior to processing.
Will Concord-DT be able to maintain the structure of the email files, for instance, will I be able to see the many sub-folders (which appear to be empty) in each person’s email?
Extraction of email items is a positive action, meaning that extracted items paths are created. If no item exists in a location, the location will not be automatically created in the repository file system. In the case that we need to reflect an empty folder, it would have to be manually created.
